Small Quake last night...
Did anyone else in Northern Cali feel it? It was 8:08pm and made my house shake. Hubby and I were watching TV, we had just finished dinner and this strange noise started and then the house began to shake. It did start small and work it's way up and then stopped suddenly, it was probably only 5 seconds but that was long enough for us both to jump up off the couch and into the doorway. Hubby said "oh shit, it's the big one!" We waited for a couple more minutes in the doorway to make sure it was done and then sat back down again. This quake was different to others I have felt. I have woken in the middle of the night before to a nice gentle, smooth rocking of the ground which has lasted longer (say 20 seconds) but been very calm. This shake definitely had more violence to it.
Anyway, turns out it was a 4.4 out in Santa Rose (40 miles away), very cool. I just hope the "Big One" holds off for another year or so. We are getting our foundations replaced in the next few months and I'd like those to be finished before the earth decides to shake again LOL (hey, my house is an 1894 Victorian, it has survived 2 big quakes but it's time to replace the foundations).

So, did anyone else feel it?
Take care,
